Scholarship standard
Xi’an City ‘The Belt and Road’International Students Scholarship is leveled into three levels.
1． First-level winners are exempt from tuition fees, accommodation fees, and living allowances are provided.
Living allowances:
Undergraduate: 1500RMB/month*12months
Master: 2000RMB/month*12months
PhD: 3500RMB/month*12months
2．Second level winners are exempt from tuition fee, and living allowances are provided.
Living allowances:
Undergraduate: 1500RMB/month*10 months
Master: 2000RMB/month*10 months
PhD: 3500RMB/month*10months
3． Third-level winners are exempt from a 50% tuition fee, and living allowances are provided.
Living allowances:
Undergraduate: 1500RMB/month*10 months
Master: 2000RMB/month*10 months
PhD: 3500RMB/month*10months
Chinese language or Foundation program (study duration exceed 10 months): 10000RMB/year
Majors covered by the Scholarship
Xi’an City ‘The Belt and Road’International Students Scholarship applicants can apply all majors offered for international students.
Eligibility of Applicants
1． Good physical and mental health (no infectious diseases or physical or mental diseases affecting regular study).
2． Prior to September 1, 2023, applicants for the undergraduate program must have a high school diploma and be younger than 30. Before September 1, 2023, applicants for admission to the Master’s program must have a bachelor’s degree on file and be under 35 years old. Before September 1, 2023, applicants for admission to the PhD program must have a Master’s degree certificate and not be older than 40.
3． Applicants should have good learning ability and academic performance. The requirement for a previous academic grade level is an average score of 75% and above.
The global standard tests SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB/IGCSE/WAEC/GED/GRE/GMAT are also accepted by NPU.
4． Language Proficiency Requirements.
Applicants should have Chinese/English language proficiency that meets the application and admission criteria.
5． The applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports.
The applicants who used to be Chinese citizens but later immigrated to other countries, must hold the passports or the citizenship certificates of their current countries for at least 4 years in addition to the 2-year “proof of residence” in the recent 4 years.
Applicants whose one or both parents are Chinese citizens must provide one of the following supporting documents:
(1) The certificate proving that the applicant obtained the foreign nationality at birth;
(2) For applicants who used to be Chinese citizens but later immigrated to other countries, these applicants shall provide the certificates of cancellation of Chinese nationality.
Application Period
Undergraduate application:
First batch: November 15, 2022, to March 15, 2023
Second batch: March 16, 2023, to April 15, 2023
The third batch: April 16, 2023, to May 15, 2023
Fourth batch: May 16, 2023, to June 15, 2023
Postgraduate application:
The first batch: November 15, 2022 – February 15, 2023
The second batch: February 16, 2023 – March 15, 2023
The third batch: March 16, 2023 – April 15, 2023
The fourth batch: April 16, 2023 – May 15, 2023
Applicants are encouraged to apply early to have a higher chance of receiving a scholarship.

※All scholarship winners must pass an annual review. The level of the scholarship will be adjusted according to their academic performance.
